Cresson Flour and Feed Mill

Joseph buys out his father-in-law and the company changes name to Cresson Flour and Feed Mill. Joseph’s sons Ed, Paul, Bill and Jim begin working in the family business.

Joseph’s sons Ed and Bill form a corporation known as Cresson Feed Mill, Inc.

Move to Old Rt 22 in Munster

Ed’s sons Ed Jr. and Gene expand the equipment sales end of the business as a separate entity, known as Hines Equipment.  The equipment division is moved from the basement of the Feed Mill building in Cresson to the current store location on Old Rt 22 in Munster.  Feed milling and sales stay in the Mill building.

Ed Sr. passes

Ed Sr. passes away, Ed Jr. and Gene become owners.  Ed’s sons Joe and Steve, along with Gene’s sons Dennis and Dave begin working in the business.

1981

New location in Altoona

First store expansion of Hines Equipment.  This new store is located in Altoona, PA at the Bellwood intersection.  Ed’s son Joe becomes manager of this store.

1983

The Feed Mill transitions to the management of Gene’s son Dennis.  Gene’s son Dave becomes corporate parts manager of Hines Equipment.  Steve becomes corporate service manager of Hines Equipment.

New Location in Johnstown

Second store expansion of Hines Equipment.  This third store is located in Johnstown, PA along Eisenhower Blvd.  Mark Rosenbaum is the manager of this store.

1995

Gene passes

Gene passes unexpectedly, and Joe Sr., Steve, Dave, and Dennis become members of the board.  In April, purchase of Morris International is completed and Hines Equipment begins operating the Morris International locations in Everett and Somerset.  Joe Sr.’s sons Joe Jr., Mike, and Dan begin employment in the business.  Joe Jr. becomes the manager of the Everett location.  Dave assumes the management of the Somerset location.

Move to Berlin Plank Rd.

The Somerset location is moved from the Mini-Mall location on RT 31 to the dedicated store on Berlin Plank Rd.

The Everett location is moved to Bedford, PA along Business 220.  

2013

The company continues business under the management of three generations of the Hines Family.
